Extrication Instructions

CONVENTIONAL ELEVATOR UNBLOCKING INSTRUCTIONS

In the event of a person being trapped in the elevator, the actions that must be taken to safely and quickly extricate them are the following:

  • First of all, the trapped person is located. That is, at what point the chamber has stopped.
  • Then we go to the engine room where we turn off the drive current (the three-phase circuit breaker). This move is for security reasons and is important.
  • Then, depending on where the elevator car has stopped, we act as follows:
    1. If the cabin has stopped up to 50 cm above or below the floor (this can be known only after reporting the trapped person) we open the lock with a flat screwdriver or with the special key where we thus open the elevator door. The lock is opened from the specific hole in the door frame.
    2. If the cab has stopped between two floors, then we act as follows: We go to the engine room where the engine is located. At the top of the machine there is a barrel (this is the brake). It has a butterfly, which we pull up and the brake is released. Then, with the brake open (throttle permanently raised), turn the engine’s flywheel in whichever direction it turns more easily (left or right). In consultation with the trapped person, when the chamber normally reaches a floor we stop, and the trapped person is now able to exit the chamber.
  • Finally, contact us for immediate repair of the damage.

HYDRAULIC LIFT RELEASE INSTRUCTIONS

In the event of a person being trapped in the elevator, the actions that must be taken to safely and quickly extricate them are the following:

    2. If the chamber has stopped between two floors, then we act as follows: we go to the engine room where the tank is located. On top of the tank is the group of valves where you find the release valve, (it’s a burgundy color). It is counter-clockwise and the more we press on it, the more the lift goes down, when you let it go it closes by itself. In consultation with the trapped person, when the chamber normally reaches a floor we stop, and the trapped person is now able to exit the chamber.
  • Finally, contact us for immediate repair of the damage.
